Well you may ask who and what is "Threads and Tangles”? Let me start with Threads and Tangles. Threads and Tangles is a new creative and characteristic small business involving product sales, provision of a quilting service and teaching in relation to patchwork and quilting, domestic machine embroidery, domestic machine quilting and Zentangle®.
That done now let me introduce myself. My name is Lee Vause and I have gained much experience through my very creative mother who is known for her amazing digitizing, machine embroidery and longarm machine quilting and at a mature age she continues to be an active longarm quilter.
I have two daughters that were very active dancers and I was heavily involved in costume design and construction not only making their costumes but also for their dancing schools. One of my daughters subsequently went on to become a professional ballerina the other a milliner.
After taking a break from sewing altogether for a number of years I again started to feel creative so in 2005 and while working full time in country Victoria I took patchwork classes and became immediately enthused. I attended as many of the classes on offer at the local patchwork shop while also learning machine embroidery and thread painting.
With this new knowledge and a new found enthusiasm I moved directly into into domestic machine quilting with a contemporary art design focus to include thread painting, fabric painting with inks and pencils and art quilting.
More recently I expanded my interest to become a Certified Zentangle® Teacher and a Jenny Haskins Accredited Tutor.
In summary I have just retired from full time work in the Healthcare industry and as such in my new venture my initial small business goal is to to provide flexible and interesting goods and services so that you may be enticed to purchase from my shop, book a class, have your quilting undertaken through my longarm quilting service or even taking a look at Samantha's amazing hats by taking the link to "her halo millinery"
